Brattitudes (Excerpt)

Hi, Everyone!
This week I have an excerpt of my story, "The Not-So-French Maid,"
from the book I am currently working on called Brattitudes.
Please enjoy!

The Not-So-French Maid

I took the feather duster and went into the living room.  I bent myself over the arm of James’s chair, just to see what it was like, pretending I was even now over his lap, James swatting my upturned butt contentedly.  I pretended to thrash around and sob, but the hard chair arm was nothing like his warm, soft lap, so I gave up.
A sudden inspiration struck me and I went back into the bedroom to get the container of baby powder I kept in there.  I brought it back out with me to the living room and I poured some into my hand, blowing it onto the coffee table to simulate household dust.  I did that with all the other furniture, too, and then I returned the powder to its rightful place.

Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you enjoyed this little snippet.
Once it's published, I'll make sure you guys get the buy link so you can read the whole story,
and the other three stories in the book.

Please be a sweetheart and visit the other authors' blogs.
You can find them here.
While you're at it,
why not check out my last book,
"So Spankable!"
which can be found here.

  1. The feather duster, hm? I'm guessing it's not the feather end she's using? :)

    1. oh yes, pretend is great fun :) Just the other day, I rolled off the bed like I was in trouble and jumped into submissive pose just to prove to myself that jumped was the right verb and my editor didn't understand

    2. Pretend is fun. The whole story's about pretending. I'm glad you guys like the snippet!

  3. Hmm. Manufactured dust, eh? She wouldn't have to do that at my house. It supplies it's own dust without any help from me. Although, this makes me think she is hoping James will take her to task for not "dusting" properly. Cute snippet. Can't wait to read more.

    1. Alas, I wouldn't need to make any fake dust at my place, either. I live out by the delta, so there's always dust.

    1. No. It sucks having to fake it. The spanking, or course, not the dust.

    1. Thanks, Mary. I like to dream up funny and strange (but realistic) things for my characters to do.

  13. Oh, dress up is so much fun. Pretending is always a great game.

  14. I love dress up, too. Sometimes a schoolgirl, sometimes steampunk (pretend he's Sherlock Holmes) and right now I'm making a 50's style dress and a crinoline.
