Mr. Pink Puss (excerpt)

Hi, everyone.
This week, I have another excerpt from my latest WIP.
I've changed the name to Mr. Pink Puss,
Earl's nickname for the paddle he bought for Gwen.
Enjoy!

When I got to my house, Earl was waiting on the front porch.  He’d had time to cool off from our fight, but he looked determined as ever to talk some sense into me.
“Come to berate me some more?” I asked him, unlocking the front door.
He didn’t say a word, but he followed me into the house, shutting the door after himself and locking it.  As soon as he was done doing that, he grabbed me by the wrist and dragged me over to the couch, jerking me down over his lap.

"What the hell do you think you’re doing?” I hollered.
"I’m going to show you.”

Well, I hope you enjoyed it.

Thunder Road (Excerpt)

Hi, everyone!
I'm back this week with a snippet from my new
work-in-progress,
"Thunder Road."
In this scene, the main character, Gwen,
has just received a present from her boyfriend, Earl.
Enjoy!

Crossing the room, he dug into his suitcase and withdrew a flat, rectangular box covered with a butterfly-patterned paper.

 "I didn’t get a bow, ’cause I figured it’d get smashed.”

“That’s okay.  Can I open it?”

He handed it to me and I ripped the paper off and opened the box.  Inside lay a flat pink cat.  I picked it up by its crooked tail and looked at it.  It was black leather on the backside, and pink suede on the front.

“What is it?”

“It’s a paddle.”

Well, I hope you enjoyed it!
