Hi, everyone!
I hope you had a great week
and are enjoying your weekend.
Today's snippet follows on from last week's, and Marigold is about to be spanked with the belt.
I hope you like it!
By the way, don't forget to stop by and visit all the other blogs.
The list is below.
Enjoy.
“Marigold? Have you ever been whipped with a belt
before?” I ask her.
“No.”
“Then this’ll be a new experience
for you. Hopefully one you won’t want to
repeat.”
She balls her fists up in the
comforter and hangs on, waiting. I
unbuckle my belt, being sure to make the buckle jingle together, and then I do
what every sub in the world fears but craves, and I yank my belt loose from the
belt loops. The sound must frighten her,
because she looks around.
“Eyes forward,” I tell her,
approaching. When she’s back into
position, I lean down and talk into her ear.
“I’m giving you five licks, one for
every minute you were late. Any
questions?”
Blurb:
When college student Marigold Cavendish meets Major League manager Bob Heath at her best friend Miranda’s engagement party, the two hit it off immediately. But with a twenty-five-year age difference between them, trouble brews. Between Marigold’s parents and Bob’s grown daughter, their relationship has very large hurdles to clear.
The more time the couple spends together, the more confident they are that their love is right, and they’re able to ignore the negative influences surrounding them. Things go smoothly for a while, and then Bob asks Marigold to marry him. What should be a happy and exciting time slowly turns into something far from that.
Bob and Marigold discover their relationship can survive the long distance necessary when Bob must travel with his team, but can it survive the negative influence of family or their own insecurities? Are they strong enough individually to become stronger still as a couple and ride out the storm? Or is their relationship doomed?

I'm not sure whether I envy her or feel sorry for her. I bet she's not late again, unless it's on purpose
ReplyDeleteI would say she becomes really punctual from now on. Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteOh the dreaded belt and the whisper sound it makes as it threads through the loops. Poor Marigold!
ReplyDeleteI know. It really is a scary sound. Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteOh. Wow. I'm guessing that will make her think twice about being late from now on...
ReplyDeleteShe's a smart girl, so yeah. Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteThere's nothing like that sound!

ReplyDeleteYeah, five stripes with the belt. She's going to set two alarm clocks in the future, no doubt. I don't envy her. Not a big fan of the belt here. I love reading the excerpt, however.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kathryn. I'm glad you stopped by!
DeleteUh oh! I can almost feel the tension in the room as she waits for them. Ouch! :)
