1) Stick a toe in:
Try something easy and non-threatening, like a blindfold and a feather duster (clean, used only for this purpose. Unless you’re really kinky and like things dirty.)
2) Stick your whole foot in:
Try something fun, like a daring piece of lingerie or a sexy new outfit. There are places to get all kinds of different outfits. You or your loved one can dress like a cop, a school girl, a pirate, and you don’t even have to wait until Halloween. My go-to place for costumes and all kinds of stockings is www.3wishes.com. Check them out yourself and see if something doesn’t tickle your fancy. (That being said, I’m not affiliated with the company in any way, nor am I getting any kickbacks or commissions.)
3) Stick both feet in:Now’s the time to think of ways to incorporate what you’ve done already with something new. Put the executive lady or the naughty little fairy over your knee for a light spanking, or tie your man to the bed blindfolded and tease him. (We favor the under-the-bed restraint system with soft, padded cuffs that can be tucked away between the mattress and box spring when not in use. Plus, if you’re like me, it’s a turn-on even knowing it’s there.)
4) Tread a little further. You’re up to your knees now and getting used to it:See? The water’s not as cold as you thought. Now’s the time to choose a safeword you both agree on. (We just say safeword, but you can pick any word you like, as long as it’s something unusual enough to grab your partner’s attention. Use something like ‘lunchmeat’ or ‘window’ or ‘doorknob,’ not ‘no’ or ‘stop’ or ‘please.’ This is a signal that you really do want to stop and you’re not just playing around.
5) Now back up and make a real splash by doing a cannonball:You can experiment with BDSM further, or you can play around in the shallow end for a while by trying out a few new sexual positions, role-playing (a good use for your costumes) or incorporating different sex toys into your bedroom routine. If you’re too shy or embarrassed to go to the adult store, you can order them online and they’ll arrive in plain, unmarked packages. (The key is communication, so it’s a good idea to choose one together.)
So communicate with your partner. Find out how far you’re both comfortable going, and don’t be afraid to test your boundaries a little. You’ll find there are many ways into the pool, so come on.
Jump right in.
There’s room enough for everyone.
